Bureau presents Skins, Mit Senoj’s first solo show, and the second exhibition in the gallery’s new Port Street space. Senoj's exhibition at Bureau features new and previously unseen works.

'Beneath the surface of the skin is the hidden topography of biology. This human atlas forms the main aspect of Senoj’s research and creative practice. With the removal of recognisable social paradigms, he concentrates on the abstracted forms of our physiology. He distorts these forms from their natural order, into the unimaginable outward representation of our selves'

Mit Senoj gained his BA and MA from Manchester School of Art. This is his first solo exhibition with Bureau, having previously exhibited with the gallery at The Manchester Contemporary in 2009.

Senoj is the winner of the prestigious Jerwood Drawing Prize 2009, the UK’s leading award in drawing. His work was selected from over 2300 entries by the distinguished panel of judges - Tania Kovats, Roger Malbert, and Nicholas Usherwood. The exhibition is currently touring from Jerwood Space, London to: BayArt, Cardiff; BP Atrium Gallery, Aberdeen; Ruskin Gallery, Cambridge; The Burton Art Gallery, Devon; and Summerfield Gallery, University of Gloucestershire, Cheltenham.

Senoj has previously exhibited at Castlefield Gallery, Cornerhouse, Holden Gallery, and Open Art Gallery, in Manchester. His work is held in private collections across the UK and internationally.

Senoj has also held positions as Senior Lecturer in the School of Art & Design at Staffordshire University, and Lecturer in Visual Practice at the School Of Art & Design, University of Salford.
